Google search will be becoming more localised and convenient for Indian users. At the annual ‘Google for India’ event, there were many announcements made for the launch of new product updates which are Indian market-specific. The auto-translated results for India searches is one of the highlighting features which increases the convenience to use Google.
With the introduction of these updates Google wants to play a part in welcoming the new users as more and more Indian users are making their online presence. The VP and Country Head of Google India, Sanjay Gupta said that over the past two years, more than 100 million new Internet users belonged to rural India.
Keeping this in mind, Google has taken the initiative of adding four languages – Bangla, Marathi, Telugu and Tamil into its auto-translate results from the English language. This will make it easier for users to access Google and use it in their day to day lives.
To enhance user experience further, the search giant will also begin showing content that is relevant to the initiated search by the user in the Indian language. This feature will deploy even when the query language is set to English and become helpful for bilingual consumers.
Google is planning to roll out this inclusive feature over the next few months. If you are wondering how all of the auto-translate search results will pan out then keep reading more.
The lack of web pages in the user’s native language for the initiated search will be compensated by Google by selecting the top web pages in different languages and presenting that in the search results which the user searched for in the first place.
Google will also automatically translate the meta description and title tag of the ranked web pages to the preferred language of the user from the original foreign language. Upon clicking through from the SERP (search engine results page) to the webpage, Google will auto-translate the entirety of the webpage into the native language of the users.
This is named as Translated Results feature and as per Google’s new Search Central beliefs this feature will not only be useful for the users but also for the publishers as it will aid in expanding the audience base for the content they publish. Along with that the embedded JavaScript and images will supposedly work on the translated page.
But that’s not all, users will also get to hear the initiated search results in their native languages. This crisp feature will help users to navigate through web pages without any hassle.
Google with its latest Indian updates wants to assist Indian users and encourage the national population belonging to different parts of India. Users will be more convenient in adopting the habit of Google search.
The search giant will also deploy a new language model that is intended to target specific concerns around the Indian language that is needed for the understanding of computer systems.
